I got this kite for my sister, and neither one of us had ever flown a kite, other than the $5 type. This kite came with all of the strings connected except for the two handles. However, two of the eight strings were knotted unevenly and it took about 30 min for us to adjust them. It was a bit tedious and actually, I thought that we had adjusted them wrong and would probably have problems flying it. We took in to the beach on a moderately windy day and it felt impossible to control, but after about 15 min we got the hang of it and it was a blast. We flew it for about 2 hours because we were having so much fun wit it. The kite is also incredibly durable. We crashed it many times, and not lightly. We slammed it into the hard wet sand hard enough to leave about 4 inch deep indentations, and other than a couple of the fiberglass frame disconnecting, the kite showed no signs of damage. This kite is awesome and totally worth the money. Get it.

I was disappointed when I first tried out the kite. It doesn't fly in light winds that well. However, after getting a chance to fly it at the beach in a steady wind I fell in love with it. This is a great first timers kite. It has crashed several times and is showing very little signs of wear. It is very easy to learn some simple tricks with this kite due to its superb control.

this was my first sport stunt kite, and it came as promised and delivered excellent performance. it is sturdy and pretty. string is very good too, not like some cheap kites. this kite does require at least a steady 7 to 8 mph to fly, but can also handle up to 25 mph. mike

I have some experience kiting and wanted to get a cheap beater kite to help my 7 year old daughter learn to fly a two line. I think deltas are easier to learn on than soft kites but they are easier to break. This kite flies well and is pretty hardy. For the money I would say it's a good beater kite. We changed the lines to 100 pound dyneema and it improved performance quite a bit. The handles that come with the kite can be frustrating to use. If you don't want to spend money on lines and straps, I would suggest measuring 50-75 feet of line from each handle and tying it off to the handle. This will save you some head ache when setting up the kite. This kite is not going to do crazy axels or flic-flacs, but it turns well, has a big window and flies in a decent wind range. It will help you learn the basics of launching and controlling a two-line kite. WARNING: This kite will probably lead to other kites.

After having flown this kite in several different wind conditions, definately opt for 7+ mph winds -- 3-5mph just isn't quite enough. You'll know if theres not enough wind, it seems like it doesn't want to cooperate and is hard to control which is not the case with a bit more wind. We went to the coast where it was about 15mph and had a blast. Easy to control once its in the air. Only thing I would recommend is for long term flyers, invest in some flying straps, it makes it a lot easier on the hands.

I watched the tutorial video on how to fly stunt kites online, and then tried this one with my children. Had a lot of fun but failed in commanding this fast moving object in the air in our first attempt. Eager to try more times.

It worked just fine. The only problem I had was loosing a part. Given that it's a low cost kite, I don't think I will get cheap spare parts, so I will buy a replacement. It flies really nice. Controlling it seams to be a challenge at first but after a few minutes it's not that hard. Update: I requested the part I lost and had the pleasant surprise to receive it from the X-Kites company. It's amazing that they support they products even when kite is not expensive.

I bought this kite for my Fiancé for a Christmas gift. He was EXSTATIC and very excited to fly it. Last weekend we took it to the local park to fly it and made 4 attempts before it hit the ground and busted. It broke one of the arms off before a joint and cannot be mended. We are waiting for a response from the company to see if they replace it. All in all it was a great gift, just wish it has lasted longer.
